| Coaching Training | A Safe Place to Play: Your child's safety is BYSA's first priority. To ensure the highest level of protection, we require all volunteer coaches to complete two essential steps: - Background Check: To thoroughly vet every coach.
- SafeSport Certification: This is an important online training program from SafeSport, a national nonprofit dedicated to preventing all forms of abuse in youth sports.
Thank you for trusting us with your children! |
| Travel Divisions | If you are interested in our competitive Travel Programs, please register for that division only. Your registration signals your child's intent to participate in the required tryout process.
Important Photo Requirement (Mandatory for Travel Teams) CJSA (Connecticut Junior Soccer Association) requires all travel players to have an official pass card. This card includes a photo of the player. Please follow these guidelines when uploading the photo: - Headshot Only: The photo should be a close-up of the player's face, similar to a passport or school photo.
- One Person: The photo must show only the player (no pets, siblings, toys, or other characters, please!).
What Happens After Tryouts? If your child is not selected for a travel team, you don't need to do anything! We will automatically move their registration into the appropriate Recreational (Rec) division so they can still enjoy the season with BYSA. |
| BYSA Code of Conduct | During the registration process, you will be required to agree with the BYSA Code of Conduct for Parents and Players. We ask that you please take a few minutes to review this important policy. It outlines the expectations we have for respectful and positive behavior on and off the field, ensuring a great experience for everyone in the league. |
| Concussion Information | Player safety, especially regarding head injuries, is a top priority for BYSA. To help keep your child safe, we are providing a brief document on concussions with every registration. This document offers key information on: - What a concussion is.
- Symptoms you should look for.
- Steps to take if you suspect an injury.
- Please Note: This document is for information only and is not a substitute for professional medical care. If you suspect your child has suffered a concussion, we strongly urge you to seek appropriate medical treatment immediately.
